Men, Relatives, Friends & Bedrest
Anyone have any of the above who just dont get it?
Im on partial bedrest or modified bedrest. Which basically means that I have to limit my activities and rest most of the day...But Im allowed up. With this being my 4th pregnancy I basically know what works and what doesnt.
I have several well meaning individuals here who just dont get it..I guess b/c Im not in the hospital with an IV in my arm they think Im just being lazy????
Anyone else?

I'm not on bedrest, but my friend is having a birthday gathering the evening after I go for my amnio. I was told to take it easy for a couple of days, and hauling myself into Harlem to the restaurant she chose just doesn't sound like taking it easy to me.
I told her I would love to go for dinner another time and explained why I can't go, but she doesn't get it. She's annoyed, but it's too bad, there's not much I can do.

yeah, i was only on bedrest for a week but DH didn't get it....he asked me to pick up the dry cleaning and do some other stuff...I'm like "I'm supposed to be resting!" Or he'd call and ask me what I was doing...and I'd be like "resting!?" and hes be like "must be nice!" I got so upset one day and he finally got the hint...then I had to go back to work!

i could see a few of my family/friends behaving this way too  but i've never been on bedrest. how come you're on modified bedrest? would it help if the doctor told your DH

My DH so does not understand the concept of bed rest!!! I am modifiied as well and have been since my cerclage at 13 weeks (I'm 18 weeks now). The dr. has explained everything to DH and yet it is still a mystery to him. My mother, on the other hand takes it to the other extreeme... if she could keep me in bed until November she would!!!

Do not go!!!!! I just had the amnio and the girls here convinced me to take an additional day off from work. It was the right thing. I now believe that the prengancy is a lot more vulnerable right after the amnio. I decided that I did not want to risk something like a car accident or even a slip and fall.
I am not on bedrest but I am having a tough time with morning sickness. I am beginning to think that people are sick of it. As if I am not!!!!!

All my kiddies like to come early!!!!! The longest Ive gone is 36 weeks and that was after 4 weeks of complete bedrest (due to full effacement and a fingertip dialated at 32 weeks) and partial bedrest for 10 weeks...
....I think my DH thinks that b/c this is only one baby that Im not going to have a problem BUT...the above...was a single baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go full blown preterm labor with twins!
