Melted Carpet !? HELP !
Does anyone know how to repair a melted carpet ? Any home remedies ? I placed a pan on the carpet and didn't realize just how hot it really was. Now I have a rectangle shaped spot and the carpet literally is melted. It's like a smooth surface . Any help would be greaty appreciated !! TIA

Re: Melted Carpet !? HELP !
what type of carpet is it? depending on the carpet, you can get a cheap kit from home depot and cut it from the closet and do a switcheroo and never even notice what happened. There is no way to fix a meted carpet except for a patch. The kits are cheap, easy to do and worry free...again-this depends on the type of carpet you have.....this option doesn't work well on berber carpet, but its great for the old school shaggy look that most people have these days.
Good Luck!

i agree.
all you can do is replace it.
i don't know how you would even unmelt the carpet.
my DH somehow dropped an iron on a rug we once had.... and there was a burn stain on it. they don't come out.
