Hi!
I saw your response to my post about moving out of state, and saw that you moved to Charlotte. DH and I will be moving to the Charlotte area this summer and I'm SO excited!! Are you in Charlotte, or one of the suburbs? Right now we're looking at Matthews, Mint Hill, Ballantyne, Pineville...places like that.
How do you like it? As many of the other posters had said, I just feel like we should make the move NOW, while there aren't any kids in the picture and it's easier to take the risk. Are you guys glad you made the move?
Thanks a bunch in advance for your insight!!

Re: **meghanmetz**
We moved to Charlotte just over two years ago (February 2005). We live in North Charlotte (about as far north as you can get without hitting Concord/ Huntersville).
We love love love love it here. The weather is so much better, (64 degrees today!!), the cost of living is so much better, everything is so new and so clean.
We were married about 6 months before we moved, no kids, and our thinking was the same as yours, lets do it now before we have kids, etc.
Best advice I can give is to have jobs set up before you come, or a big emergency fund. I transferred down with my company and it made the whole process so much easier knowing I had a job that I was familiar with and one less thing to worry about.

Thank you so much for your help. My husband will be able to telecommute with his current job, so that'll be great. I've secured a teaching position for next year, so I'm all set as well. I'm glad to hear that you're happy you made the move. I really have a great feeling about the whole thing.
Thanks for making me feel better!

Congrats - where did you get the teaching job? In CMS or a private school or outside of the CMS district? My husband telecommuted for a while too.

Re: **meghanmetz**
Meghan is Charlotte's welcome wagon. I felt so welcomed, I almost bought a house down the street from her

I heard that CMS wasn't the greatest, so I opted for Union County instead. I'll be teaching at Antioch Elementary next year (in Matthews).
I'm so excited! AND, I'm glad to know another LI'er that's made the move. Thanks for helping to put my mind at ease.
