medical insurance
For those of you that don't have medical insurance thru work, how much do you pay and who do you go thru? COBRA is running out at the end of the year for my DH and I. I have it thru my previous employer. I just called the # to get rates for continuing coverage and was told that for a comporable plan we're looking at $2,715.36 a MONTH for 2 of us!!!

Re: medical insurance
Well, DH pays $1200 a month and the company picks up most of the rest so that is probably what we would pay.

Re: medical insurance
its crazy, isn't it?!? my parents own their own business, so they have to pay out of pocket for health insurance, and its rediculus what they pay for just the two of them... its probably close to the quote you got. and they don't even have my sister and i on there anymore! LOL i work at a school, and whenever teachers "complain" that they don't get paid enough, i get so mad... our benefits are basically paid for!! they don't realize how much that in itself is worth!

They might qualify for HealthyNewYork and even if they don't, they should be writing the premiums off the top for AGI.

Re: medical insurance
holy moly! I know nothing about this really, but maybe try oxford? I say this only b/c this is the insurance my last company had and my boss was super cheap so i have to believe she wouldn't pick top-of-the-line insurance for her employees (which she didn't pay much of anyway.)
