Here's a link to the most recent thread on Medford.
It's got some nice areas (I'll be biased and say the area I'm in is one of them) and some not so nice.
I think the school districts are not the worst...but certainly there are better. Since moving here, we've talked to several families who've raised their kids here and sent them all to public school and each one has said that the schools are fine.

My mom lives in patchogue and said a lot of the children near her go to catholic school.

We live in Medford and if we have children we intend to send them to public school. It's a good SD, but obviously it's not Ward-Melville.

I read somewhere (im not sure if this is true) that the specials at the elem school have been cut back a lot because of budget problems...
