Re: Meatloaf
this does not have gravy, but is the BEST meatloaf & it does not need gravy
1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup ketchup 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef 1/2 cup milk 2 eggs 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 small onion, chopped 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 3/4 cup finely crushed saltine cracker crumbs
*I also use 1 envelope onion soup mix and do not add salt -a few dashes of worcestshire sauce
Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 5x9 inch loaf pan. . In a bowl mix together the brown sugar and ketchup, set aside. In a mixing bowl, mix thoroughly all remaining ingredients and shape into a loaf. Pour ketchup glaze over the meatloaf. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour or until juices are clear

i use a very similar recipe except i add chopped celery and garlic. instead of adding onion soup mix, i add a packet of sazon. so delicious!!

Sure! It isn't healthy, but really yummy
1 ½ lbs lean ground beef 1 cup Breadcrumbs (I use italian ones) 1 cup tomato sauce(I've used ketchup in a pinch) 1 egg, beaten ½ cup white onion, finely chopped ½ teaspoon garlic powder Salt Pepper ½ cup barbecue sauce 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 dash nutmeg 1. In a large bowl combine beef, bread crumbs, tomato sauce, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper. 2. With hands, blend mixture well and form into a firm loaf 3. Place in center of greased baking dish 4. Bake in preheated 350 degree over for 30 minutes 5. Meanwhile, combine BBQ sauce, brown sugar and nutmeg. Stir well. 6. Pour mixture on the top of meatloaf 7. continue baking meatloaf for an additional 30 minutes 8. Remove from over and let sit for 10-15 minutes
I actually have started using onion powder instead of an onion b/c I can never get the consistency right and I didn't like it to be "crunchy"
It tastes good as turkey meatloaf too
