Maybe you can help. Museum question.
I want to take DD to a museum or aquarium, something fun this weekend. Can you give me any ideas?
She will be 5 years old next month.
Thanks!

Riverhead aquarium.. I brought dd their last summer and it was fun.. not sure if the cost is worth it in winter tho.
Childrens museum is nice by nassau college. My neice and nephew always have a great time there.

www.licm.org is the website for the children's museum. It's great there. Packed on the weekends though.
I would skip Atlantis..I don't think it's worth the price in the winter when the outdoor attractions are closed.

I agree, LICM is great for her age. So many things to do. Their new exhibit "Contraptions A to Z" is really great - one of the best they've had in years!

There is the NY aquarium (brooklyn)- we go there frequently and I hear it is much better than atlantis. They even have a sea lion show (not sure if it is all year but they were doing it back in Feb when I brought my father and DD there.
The LICM is a great museum for kids.
I haven't been there but I have heard good things about the NY Hall of Science in Queens is supposed to be great.
What about the Bronx Zoo - if the weather is nice? We were there last week when it warmed up a bit. It is open year round and there were plenty of things to see and do.

I agree 100%. Children's museum was a blast - bring your own lunch though. All they have is vending machines. Aquarium is better in nice weather I agree. Although I was just there and had fun (and we had the whole place to ourselves I might add) it was too cold to go outside. Both times I went in March so I didn't even know what I was missing, lol.
