Maui for 7 days? UPDATED: GOING FOR 9 DAYS!!
Would it be crazy to go to Hawii for only 7 days.. We are thinking of going to Maui only but can really not afford more then 7 days. I guess that would be 1 day traveling there, 1 day traveling back and 5 full days..is it even worth it???
UPDATED:
So after reading replies and doing some research we think we can swing it for 9 days! We are talking to a travel agent now, I am sure we will have tons of questions once we figure out what we are doing :)

I think it depends on what you'd like to do in maui, relax? or site see and do things? In my opinion you can definitley see what you want to see in maui in 5 days, but it is a very long flight and probably want time to just relax. I had a friend who did 7 days in maui and wishes they had 2 more days. I did 5 days in maui and 5 days in kaui and thought that was the perfect amount of time to see both islands. not sure if this is helping you or not, sorry!!

We did 8 days in Maui for our Honeymoon and 7 in Kauai. I thought it was perfect. We did a few sightseeing things, and had time in between to relax. DH and I said that we would totally go back to Maui for a week, but break up our trip with either a 2 or 3 night stay in Vegas or Cali!!! Enjoy!

While I think the plane ride alone calls for at least a 10 day vacation. I have a friend and my BIL who both went for 7 days, just one island and enjoyed it.

I personally would have a hard time justifying doing Maui by itself for 5 days. I think its just too far and the flight is too long, I dont think I'd feel like it really would be worth it. Plus you'd travel all that way, and not see any of the other islands.
We just got back from 5 days in Maui and 4 days in Kauai, and even that I felt wasnt really enough time. And I was disappointed that we didnt have time to see the Big Island or Oahu. Who knows when/if we will ever get back there.
If I were you, I'd rather spend 7 full days in the Bahamas or somewhere closer, and save the Hawaii trip for when you have more time/funds.

i agree....we spent over 2 weeks on the islands (oahu, maui, kauai) and that was perfect...but to go all that way for only a week...i wouldn't do it...i'd go somewhere closer....it's a far trip and i think u would like to spend more time there and maybe island hop....there is a lot to do in maui and we loved it! so u must get there at some point!

You might be a little jet-lagged with that timeframe, and for me personally, I could spend forever in Hawaii...
But...
If you do go to Maui, make sure you go to Mama's Fish House for dinner....It is delicious! Easily the best fish Ive ever had. Love it.
