I just bought a Kingsdown platinum 43 it's awesome my sister has the 2 which is softer and she says it's the "royals royce of beds"

Sealy-I think..you can't go wrong with any of the name brands and it's very personal. Go lay down on a few and see what you like.

Tempurpedic. Great in the winter and in the summer when the a/c is on full blast.........comfy mattress but it def. makes ya sweat!

We got a Kingsdown. It cost alot more than I wanted to spend but the warranty and the comfort are so worth it. Plus from Sleepys, they make you lay down on this computerized bed to see what "number" you are.

I have the Kings Down #2 and I LOVE it!!!! So worth the money. My shoulders never hurt anymore. I sleep on my side a lot.

Consumer Reports doesn't recommend any particular model because whatever the name is in one store is totally different in another. What CR does is give you a buying guide and basically say what Susan said...it's all a matter of personal taste....firm, soft, pillowtop, eurotop, etc.
We just recently bought a mattress at JCPenney and for the life of me I can't remember the name...
