maternity clothes & showing
just wanted to see where all of you ladies stood:
how many weeks were you when you started wearing maternity clothes? how many weeks when you felt like you were showing?
I'm at 14 weeks and I feel like my tummy is definitely getting more noticeable but I'm still wearing my regular pants... I'm def in that weird in between phase. I know everyone's a little different but I figure it's still good to see what I can expect!

Re: maternity clothes & showing
I have some maternity dresses and shirts but they really aren't much different than regular shirts and dresses, just kinda of loose. At 17w I'm still in my regular pants but Im wearing a band since I can't button anything.

Re: maternity clothes & showing
I was in maternity pants at 12w, but I couldn't do the band because of my job, my pants would end up on the floor
Shirts I varied, could get away with some non maternity shirts until about 20w

I have been in maternity pants since 12 weeks. They changed my life! I am now 20 weeks and have gained 10lbs so far. Some shirts fit but I could not imagine being in my regular pants.

With my first I wasn't in maternity until well into my pregnancy. Week 20 something. With this one, I'll be in them before the end of the first trimester guaranteed.

Re: maternity clothes & showing
As soon as my clothing became uncomfortable. This was around 10 weeks for bottoms. I could get away with yoga pants for longer.

About 10 weeks I had to switch to maternity pants. I could fit in my pants but by 2PM I had to unbutton them. I also suffered from hyperemesis so anything that was too tight around my stomach made me feel sicker. Shirts I could still wear and even at 36.5 weeks I can still wear some of my regular shirts (since they were long enough to begin with).
I started showing around 18 weeks but then popped again at about 25 weeks.

Re: maternity clothes & showing
i stayed in regular jeans on and off until about 16-18 weeks. i had some bigger jeans i had saved for that purpose and they worked for a little while.
i still wear shirts that aren't maternity shirts sometimes and i'm 32 weeks.
i wear a tank top that's stretchy every day and would just layer over it.
i was able to wear tshirts every day though so...

I have been since 12 weeks too. I still have a couple pairs of regular jeans I fit into (I'm 19 weeks now) But they are more comfortable! Plus I had a lot of maternity hand me downs (tops, dresses, skirts) and some of them were really cute actually so it was more fun than wearing the same stuff I always wear! I am the minority but I hate that band thing. I just dont feel like my pants are secure and it always rides up.

Re: maternity clothes & showing
I started showing more & wearing maternity clothes (although I still wear my regular clothes sometimes) around 30-31 weeks. Most of my shirts still fit over my belly. But with pants I have to either wear elastic waist, or leave them unbuttoned.

Re: maternity clothes & showing
I started buying pants at around 10 weeks and shirts around 14 weeks....it was different for me because my stomach area was more bloated so I couldn't button my pants but I wasn't showing enough to wear maternity shirts at the same time.

Re: maternity clothes & showing
I was in maternity clothes early. I don't know if it was IVF that bloated me up ... or the fact that I didn't get morning sickness at all really and gained 10lbs in the first trimester ... but I was in maternity pants and tops since earlllly on.

Re: maternity clothes & showing
I'm 24 weeks and just started wearing maternity clothes. I wear leggings or yoga pants everyday anyway, so I had some leeway. I probably grew out of my regular pants at about 21 weeks.

I was in maternity clothes by about 11-12 weeks. I gained weight very quickly and my regular clothes didn't fit me. I wasn't quite showing but I couldn't get into my normal jeans.

With my first I started at 12 maybe 13 weeks. I wasn't showing but it felt so comfy to wear them. I started getting a cute little tummy at around 14-15 weeks. This time around I think I will start showing sooner

I just started wearing maternity pants last week at 17 weeks. The belly band was driving me crazy. I'm much more comfy in dresses though bc the maternity pants slide down. I still feel weird wearing a fitted shirt bc I think I still look fat not pregnant. I did wear a tank and jeans yesterday though and I think it's looking like a bump now!

Re: maternity clothes & showing
I started wearing maternity pants around 12 weeks for work and my jeans.
Tried the belly band for a week or so, but maternity pants were more comfortable so I just went with it.

Re: maternity clothes & showing
I bought maternity jeans at 12 weeks. I still fit into my jeans but they were very uncomfortable after eating.
I'm 15 weeks 3 days now and still wearing my regular shirts, sweats and yoga pants. This week is the first week that family and friends have said they notice a bump, I think I just appear bloated to people who don't know me lol

Re: maternity clothes & showing
seems like it's a pretty big swing depending on the person... I could make the switch in the next few days or next few weeks at this rate lol. I keep anticipating not being able to fit in my clothes and I appreciate being able to fit into it for now, but there's still this feeling of "what clothes will I need and when?" I suppose I'll find out when I get there :)
thanks for all the input!
