matching appliances
We bought a frig in white a few years ago because we needed one in the worst way. This year we are re doing our kitchen. Cabinets, floor, appliances etc. We are getting a new stove and dishwasher. Do you really think it matter if the frig is white and the stove and dishwasher are a different color, but the same color. I was thinking about getting black appliances. Do you think it would look okay with black stove and dishwasher and a white frig? I personally don't think it would matter, but a few people are telling me it wouldn't look right. We are not going to buy a new frig.

Re: matching appliances
i have a white fridge and a black stove because I have no choice (apartment) if i was purchasing i would make sure it matches. If you want to get rid of the white sell it (trust me someone will buy it) on craigslist.

Re: matching appliances
I definitely think it matters. When your entire kitchen is new and beautiful that white fridge will stick out like a sore thumb.
I agree with the PP - list it on Craigslist. Or, put it in the bsmt (if you have one) as it's always a great thing to have an extra fridge for storage, etc and also for drinks while in the bsmt.

Re: matching appliances
It definitely matters. I think that all appliances HAVE to match or else there will be no continuity and flow in the kitchen. I am also a big fan of the same brand appliances, so that they have the same handles and stuff. If you go to any cabinet place to renovate your kitchen, they will tell you the same thing. HTH

Re: matching appliances
if u are planning on selling your houe it will show better if they do match. maybe u can get a discount or deal if u buy them all together?
not sure if this is good or how it works...but on a home show i saw them use special appliance spray paint to change the color of the fridge from white to black to match.

Re: matching appliances
We have a white fridge and everything else is black (it came with the house that we bought). I can't wait to change the entire collection- it annoys me everytime I walk into the kitchen the fridge is so noticeable.

Re: matching appliances
If you plan to stay in your house long enough that you will ultimately upgrade the fridge again anyway, then I think it can wait as long as you are happy with it.
Although I do think that the ideas of putting it in the basement or selling it are great.
If you plan to sell in the next few years though I would invest in matching appliances.
