Marsala wine
Is this something you get at a liquor store or in the supermarket? Does anyone know of a good substitute for it? Thanks!

Yes, you get it in a liquor store. They sell cooking "wines" in the supermarket; (I believe in the section where you find dressings and vinegars) but in my opinion I don't think they are very good (I think a friend of mine once used it). I'm not sure what you mean by a substitute?

Ditto this on buying it in the grocery store. I've never had a problem finding it.
I don't really think there are any substitutions, except maybe Madeira wine- but that is even harder to find!

Re: Marsala wine
Thank you!
What I meant by substitute was a non-alcholic type liquid to use like chicken stock or something. I have never cooked with wine before.
If anyone was interested, this is what I want to make for a side dish for Thanksgiving.

That recipe sounds delicious! When you cook with liquor or wine, the alcohol itself "cooks off" but will leave you with the flavor.
