Man Razors

Hiii! I need man razor recommendations. Chat Icon Rich currently uses some Mach3 or 4 or something like that, but he has that baby face irish red blotchiness skin, and shaving is killing him lately! I don't know if electric or regular is better….he really doesn't have a lot of facial hair, but he shaves daily. He's been cutting up his face! And scratching the heck out of ME.

What does your man use? Electric? Regular? What's better?

Thanks!
(and my poor scratched up skin thanks you too!)

DH uses the Mach 4, so I can't help you there. But he swears by this stuff, which supposedly protects against irritation and razor burn:

Re: Man Razors

I don't think most electric razors shave near as close as a good regular razor. My Dh uses the one with 4 blades - forget who makes it. He gets a thick beard and has to shave every day. Works wonderfully - I use it, too, and I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin.

Is he changing the blade often enough? Using shaving cream? (Don't laugh, but my DH shaves with soap instead. Chat Icon)

Maybe try one with fewer blades.

One of my brother's swears by an electric razor, but he doesn't have much of a beard.

all the men I know hate electric razors. they don't give a close enough shave, according to them.

try getting him better shaving gel - like for sensitive skin. i also think using an after shave lotion helps

DH has super sensitive skin and uses an electric every day since he thinks it's easier on his skin. He still uses a regular razor to get the spots he missed.

I got him a Braun self cleaning one like this in Target last year that he really likes.

DH uses a Mach 3 or 4 or something like that. He uses it for his face and head.

After he shaves he uses Vasoline Intesive care lotion

Dh uses the Gillette Fusion razors. A pack of eight is the same cost as a weeks groceries for a family of 4. I think he needs to find new ones because I am tired of washing the blood stains out of his collars.

Re: Man Razors

It might not be his razor, but the shaving cream and lotions he uses.

My DH has sensitive skin and loves the Nivea face products. I tried buying him really expensive shaving cream and lotions from Sephora, and his face got itchy and bumpy.

He also uses a Mach 3 razor. He tried electric razors, but they didnt get close enough, and he said it felt like it was pulling his hair.

Re: Man Razors

Another thought - Don't neglect the idea that it could also be how he shaves. I've seen guys shave like they're trying to scrape off their top layer of skin, constantly changing direction, etc.

A sharp razor blade (change it often) eliminates the need to go over and over and over the same spots in different directions.
