I am getting ready to register in the next week or so and I am trying to figure out which gear I need. should I get the Mamaroo or a swing? Was the Mamaroo worth the money?

It really depends on the baby. One of my friends loved the mamaroo and her son was so happy in it, my other friend her son would scream his head off. Maybe register for both and see which the baby prefers? Keep the boxes you can always return for store credit.

I have one that I got off a buy/sell group on Facebook for $125. It's nice but I wouldn't spend more than that on it.

I have it. My first DS hated it but loved going in the swing (my mom and my friend had one that he would go in at their houses and LOVED it). DS 2 tolerates the mamaroo but LOVES the swing. So, IMO, get the swing.

I have it, DD is in it right now. She seems to like it but isn't the best barometer cause she gets pissy when no one is holding her no matter where I put her. I like that you can control it with your phone. We don't have a swing so I can't compare. It does have a tree swing mode, so my feeling was that we didn't need both.
