making your own baby food -- meat

I've been pureeing DS's veggies and fruits and freezing them in cubes. So far, so good. He loves it and I am glad I am home right now and have the time and energy to do it. In a few weeks he will start meats. I was wondering how other baby food-making-mommas handle meats. I have a couple of books but they offer a couple of different ideas. I was wondering what you moms do!

TIA!!!

I take her meat... whatever kind it is, and I boil it in water w/a little bit of stock. Once it's cooked, I throw it into the Magic Bullet DRYYYYYY, and turn it on.... It crumbles down to a VERY fine mixture. Once that step is done, then i take stock and add it in, and turn the bullet on for about 30 seconds to get it to a puree...

Now we've been able to incorporate texture, so I've begun adding pastina or rice into her meat. I will soon begin not chopping/pureeing her food as fine.

Thanks so much!

How did your DD like it? DS seems to like all his fruits and veggies, but there is something that is off-putting (to me, at least) about pureed meat. Did she like it right away?

No absolutely not!

BUT

That was b/c I wasn't getting it to a fine enough consistency. I used a regular food processor, and then a baby food processor and BOTH of them were leaving the mash too chunky/textured.

Once I started using the Bullet, it was perfection! I have no problems with it now....
