Making Soup Question
I want to make chicken vegetable soup. I usually take water/chicken broth and boil that with the chicken, some spices and some veggies and cook for about an hour and then drain. Then I usually put in fresh veggies and shred up the cooked chicken and add that and cook that for a bit. Sometimes I make pasta in another pot and add those in at the end. I usually do this straight through.
Now, here is my question: Can I split this into two parts, meaning i make the soup base/cook the chicken and then refrigerate until later tonight and when I take it back out I add the veggies (and possibly pasta)?? Is it bad to do some steps, put it in the fridge and then come back to it later at night?

I don't see why not.

ill take the chicken out of the soup when i drain it all out but then leave the broth and the chicken in the fridge separate until i reheat and cook it with the fresh vegetables.

I don't see why you can't do it in steps. Go for it!

Re: Making Soup Question
Thank you. I just started making it and it smells so good and it is such a relief to know it will be half-done when dinner time rolls around and things get hectic here.
