making powdered formula-Similac

Do u fill the bottle to the oz. mark u want, then add the scoops of formula?

I have been making my DDs formula this way, according to the can. I just want to make sure its correct.

My DD has been on Neocate (allergy related) for her whole life and now is on Similac before switching to reg. whole milk. Its prepared differently.
TIA

I fill the bottle to the oz line (6oz right now) then add the 1 scoop per 2 ozs to that (so 3 scoops for 6oz). Then shake, shake, shake and serve. Chat Icon

Yup - sometimes it's close to 6.5 sometimes it looks like 7 but a lot of it is just the foam. Either way I give it...what he takes he takes and what he doesn't goes down the drain. It's never too much that gets left behind.

Yes for every 2oz of water and 1 scoop of formula you will make 2.2 oz of formula..so for 6oz of water and 3 scoops you will wind up with a touch over 6 1/2 oz of formula...

The powder adds volume to the liquid so that's fine Chat Icon

Now if you make an entire pitcher at once, you have to put the amount of water as specificed on the can for the larger serving size so it balances out. I know that I was doing it wrong for quite some time!
