Making pillows for the couch...
As you can see... I've spent the better part of the morning watching HGTV
I want to add some color to our living room, but don't want to paint since I don't think we'll be here past next summer...
I want to make some pillows for our beige couch, but don't have a sewing machine. Has anyone make pillows without one before? How long do you think it will take?
I'm not a seamstress... but I think I could make simple geometric shapes

Re: Making pillows for the couch...
Pillows are pretty easy, and I'm no expert They were my first sewing project and I still use them. The basic ones are just sewing two squares together and stuffing them. So maybe it would take an hour or two to cut, sew and stuff a few pillows?? Good luck and we want to see the finished project

Re: Making pillows for the couch...
I've made a bunch of pillows with the heat tape (not sure what its called) - the stuff that fuses together when you iron it. So easy. In fact, if you find some nice dinner napkins, you can just iron them together and stuff them. You dont even have to measure & cut. I've found some cute napkins (square pillow) and even fabric placemats (for a rectangle pillow) I've done about 6 of them for our room and my daughter's room, they are so simple. Seriously it couldn't be any easier, and it's a fraction of the cost of a pillow.

Re: Making pillows for the couch...
I've made pillows as a party favor and used heat tape. It works wonders and it's pretty easy. The first few always take longer.
My neighbor just used some sort of self stick hemming tape. She said it was all she had in her house from hemming her DH's pants and she said it worked well too. They might be using the same thing I mentioned above but it's another thought.

i just got this from target for like, 14 bucks...
it's simple to use and good for small projects like making pillows, hemming pants, etc.
