Making own baby food and freezing it
For those that freeze food that you make. If you are going to thin it out with liquid such as water/BM/formula do you add the liquid before you put it in the freezer, or do you thin it after its frozen right before you feed your DC?

ive done it both ways. I would thin it out first and then freeze it into cubes. I used to mix the purees with cereal, so if it got too thick I would thin it out with water.

i thin it out prior to freezing. i find it easier to thin it out prior so that it will fit better in the trays... but you can do it both ways

Re: Making own baby food and freezing it
I started with sweet potato and not thinned before freezing. But I found I did not always have BM to thin (even though now I use water sometimes) at the time of feeding. So I thin before feeding that way I'm ready to go when he's ready to eat and I know the portion he's getting because I consider the portion of food to be what it is, including the thinning agent.
Steamed zuccini is what we're doing now and it does not need to be thinned at all. Freezes great.
