Re: Making Home Affordable Program through BOA
i actually called BOA yesterday (the most evil bank in america) to ask about rate modifications.
i am hearing that alot of banks are just charging a point to rate mod. BOA is doing it only for people who fall under making home affordable - the woman on the phone told me that the loan has to be owned by Fannie/Freddie - mine isn't for whatever reason, even though its conforming - so that ended the convo there.
let us know if you find out anything - good luck they are horrible to deal with!

Re: Making Home Affordable Program through BOA
I've been dealing with BOA on Making Home Affordable for a year now....still not getting answers. And everytime I talk to someone, I get a different answer - never the same. Very frustrating!

Re: Making Home Affordable Program through BOA
I refinanced with them under the Making Home Affordable Program last year. My house is worth less than what we purchased it for so I had no choice to go this route if I wanted to refi. The only thing different is that they dont have to do an appraisal or income verification, etc...they basically just lowered my interest rate. The fee's and closing costs are the same as a normal refi.
ETA: Our loan was originally with Countrywide which was bought out by BOA. If we went with an entirely different bank I think we would have had to pay some additional fee's for transferring our mortgage.
