magnolia bakery
Has anyone been to Magnolia Bakery..its around Bleeker in Manhattan. The bakery has been shown on Sex and the City. They have the best cupcakes I have ever had in my life. Does anyone know if you can have their cupcakes shipped to you?

Re: magnolia bakery
Yes I have had them many times. Have also had cupcakes from their sister bakery, Buttercup. Not sure about delivery...we've always had to pick them up.

Re: magnolia bakery
I make these a lot. They were featured on Martha once. They are unbelieveable!!!!!
Magnolia Bakery Vanilla Cupcakes Makes about 2 dozen 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened 2 cups sugar 4 large eggs, at room temperature 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract Magnolia Bakery Vanilla Buttercream 1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line two 12-cup muffin tins with paper liners; set aside. In a small bowl, combine flours; set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add dry ingredients in 3 parts, alternating with the milk and vanilla, and scraping down sides of bowl in between each addition; beat until ingredients are incorporated but do not overbeat. 2. Divide batter evenly among liners, filling about three-quarters full. Bake, rotating pan halfway through, until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes. 3. Transfer to a wire rack to cool in tins for 15 minutes. Remove cupcakes from tins, and cool completely on rack. Once cupcakes have cooled, use a small offset spatula to frost tops of each cupcake. Serve at room temperature.
Magnolia Bakery Vanilla Buttercream
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
6 to 8 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine butter, 4 cups sugar, milk, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until smooth and creamy, 3 to 5 minutes. Gradually add remaining sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating for about 2 minutes after each addition, until icing reaches desired consistency; you may not need to add all the sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Re: magnolia bakery
Sometimes I miss working in the city. We went there during lunch sometimes. Awesome cupcakes and some of their other baked goods were equally yummy.

Re: magnolia bakery
Oh my gosh, I love Magnolias.......their cupcakes rock...my best friend introduced me to them and she always said they are like biting into a piece of heaven....LOVE THEM I honestly don't think they ship because my mom just retired from where we both had worked and our coworkers wanted to get her these cupcakes. They had called and they wouldn't ship them. I do know they make wedding cakes and stuff of this nature....depends on what you are purchasing I suppose. Good luck and most of all enjoy If you have any to share, send them our way....LOL
