Magellan Maestro 4040
Ok, so I bought a Magellan Maestro 4040 and I am not happy!! I put in my home address on my way home from work just to test it out and when I got to my house it told me to make a u turn because my house was a block and a half away So I attempted to enter my boyfriends address and supposebly Glendale NY does not exist! Strike 2! Then I attempt to enter my work address and that doesn't exist either.
Maybe there's something wrong with it? Does anyone have a GPS thats real time traffic enabled that cost under $350 that they like??

Re: Magellan Maestro 4040
DH just bought a Magellan, I have no idea what model it is, but so far he has had no problems with it.
I guess I'm not much help to you then!
You can try to FM Babycote2006 - she has one too and I'm sure she knows how to use it better than I do!

Re: Magellan Maestro 4040
I bought DH and Magellan Maestro for Xmas (not sure which model, but it's def not top of the line). He uses it for work everyday and LOVES it. Maybe you need to register it and update it?

Re: Magellan Maestro 4040
I think that's the model I have. Did you go into the options and set your current location?
I had a weird problem with it telling me I was in CA. Once I set my current location, I haven't had any problems.

Re: Magellan Maestro 4040
I use Telenav in my phone and sometimes it tells me to make u-turns too. One time it told me my destination was on the left...it was an empty field. I drove up the road and asked someone at the next building. It ends up my destination was on the right behind a bunch of trees. So I don't think it is just Magellan that leads you to odd places.

Re: Magellan Maestro 4040
We have the same problems with our Magellan. It doesn't understand certain towns, you have to enter the townships. So for example, for Levittown, you have to put Hempstead, Town Of.
I want a Tom Tom because you can put in the zip code.

The same thing happened with ours. It works fine now.
