Mad Men - 4/27 -- spoilers
Did anyone watch? I was so excited for this final season, yet I feel like less and less people are watching. I loved how Don said "okay" at the end. We were all expecting him to go CRAZY and throw that paper back in their faces. Love the contrast of Don to Betty. She is a real piece of work!!! And Megan "you are pushing me away with both hands"...wow

I watched! Was Jon Hamm the most amazing actor ever in this episode?! Just the expression on his face waiting for his appointment at SCDP was so full of emotion.
What I noticed in the juxtaposition of Don and Betty in their respective scenes is how they're falling behind the times/becoming obsolete as symbolized by their clothing. Betty's there at a farm wearing heels and a perfectly styled flippy coif in 1969 as opposed to the teacher-- long hair, button- down shirt, no bra. Then Don...brown suit, hat as compared with Ginsburg and Stan, even Roger with his hippie girlfriend.
Loved the last scene...what a fall for Don!
Oh, and Megan...I love her!

OMG what a great point. totally and completely. also the scene with her friend Francine who started working at travel agency was very telling not only abt the times changing and women needing to find other venues for themselves as well the contrast to what Betty is and been born to do - perfect looking wife on a rich man's arm.
I was really shocked at how they punished Don even more. As if putting him on leave for months wasn't enough. They were convinced he will say no way (I mean absorbing his shares if he effs up?? wow...). Tho as it seems this season is about this one man's journey at redemption there was no doubt he would say yes. Looks like he is willing to take his punishments. Whether being faced with his daughter's full out anger and contempt, and calling back Megan after that huge blow out and her throwing him out of her house. Both times he was willing to grovel and that simple OK.... This show really amazes me. Such incredible writing and acting and unbelievable exploration of the American man/woman at what is usually considered as the "good old days"
ETA: forgot to say that this looked to be a in-between episode. Bringing Don back to SC&P and feels like the following episodes will be the fall out / progression of this meeting and the OK

I liked how in the partners meeting they went back/forth with the pros and cons... they love to hate Don, and they still realize that they dont want to go up against him in meetings for potential clients. Whether they like it or not he has value, and can take them down if they fire him -- they would have to buy him out $$$. Was upset that Pete wasnt called and did not get to weigh in on anything. I would have liked to hear his voice in all this. And wondering what will happen to Harry and his TV dept. He is always marginalized.

My jaw literally dropped at the end and stayed that way for a long time! There are only 4 episodes left this season. If he is gonna fail again its gotta be fast haha
And Betty is just a ***** plain and simple.
