Luvs diaper explosion

My granddaughter has been wearing Luvs since she was very young. She's 14 mos now. A few months ago my daughter had changed her and she was walking around in a diaper. All of a sudden my daughter noticed these little tiny plastic looking things all over the floor. Turned out the diaper had ripped open and the filling that absorbs the urine was all over the place! She called Luvs and they apologized and sent her coupons. Fast forward to this morning. She called me at 8:50 to tell what she woke up to. Kylie will wake up and just play in her crib for quite awhile. My daughter was watching on the monitor and then went into her room. When she opened the door, she said the room smelled like pee. She took her out of her crib and started to take off her fleece one piece zip up pjs. Boy did she get a surprise. The freakin diaper broke open and those little tiny plastic aborby things were ALL over her ! Her back, stomach, legs, ALL over the place. She had to strip her down carefully so these things wouldn't fall all over the floor. Then run her into the kitchen and put her in the sink to wash it all off her! She said it was some mess. When I went there later she showed me what it looked like. It looked like clumps of ice. She called Luvs and again, an apology and a coupon. She went out to get the diaper doublers from BRU and hopefully this won't happen again. She has been wetting thru several times in the past week. Before Kylies nap this afternoon, my daughter ran her hand over the sheet in her crib...........and that cr@p was all over the sheet too, so we had to carefully take the sheet off inside out so they wouldn't go flying all over the room .She'll have to take everything outside to shake it all off before washing everything.

Ugh, that stinks. My DD gets some of those little crystals stuck to her tush when we leave her in Huggies for too many hours. They stick to her like crazy - I can't imagine having a whole diaper full get all over the place. Forget the coupons; I think it's time to say goodbye to Luvs!

Re: Luvs diaper explosion

I only had that happen once when I took my DD in the pool with a regular diaper by mistake.... I think it was a pampers swaddlers that she had on. I don't think its Luvs, I think its the amount of urine. I would use overnight diapers for nighttime.

Re: Luvs diaper explosion

by accident I washed a diaper.
Same thing happened . it happens to any diaper when it becomes heavily saturated.
hope her new diapers are a little stronger
