Lupron
I am starting lupron in a few days for my IVF cycle and was hoping someone can tell me exactly what it's used for. How are the injections (are they like a pen like gonal-f) and what are the side effects? TIA

Re: Lupron
Lupron supresses the ovaries, and prevents premature ovulation. This was my protocol. I stayed on the Lupron during my stim phase as well, though it was a much smaller dose.
Lupron is injected through a regular syringe (like an insulin needle). it's a small thin needle and you won't feel a thing. I found the Gonal injections to be more uncomfortable.
I personally had no side effects from Lupron, but I've heard that it can cause some moodiness and headaches.

Yup. I was on lupron for my last IUI cycle. It's a syringe rather than a pen, but the needle is small. I got headaches while on it (but I took lupron w/ something else always, whether it was BCPs or gonal-f so the headaches could've been from that). I've heard of it referred to as 'looney lupron' b/c it makes you moody, but I don't think I was overly moody on it. GL!!!!

Re: Lupron
I was on Lupron during my FET cycle. No side effects except one day I had the worst headache of my life. I think this was a sinus issue though.

Re: Lupron
I also was on Lupron on my first IVF cycle. You have to draw it up with the needle (its not pre-filled, I guess because the dose can be changed). I didn't have any side effects either. It was very easy and sub-Q shot. Want to wish you luck on your cycle
