LUNCH??
OK. Craving taco bell, the crunch wrap supreme to be exact. The nearest one to me is a 35 minute drive (the one that is 10 minutes away is under renovation). I don't want to drive that far. This is one of the only times I wished I still worked in NYC! I need suggestions for lunch. Help!

Re: LUNCH??
Do you have any salad places by you - sometimes they have similar ingredients and you can get a salad with beans, cheese and even meat as well as a side of tortilla chips?

Have that whopper!! PG and Nursing moms are given an exemption during lent, you don't have to fast and can eat meat!

That is not true. I spoke to my priest about this and he said that that only applies to those who are ill or have a preexisting condition (e.g., diabetes).

That's weird because i heard the same thing that you can eat meat during lent if you are pregnant. I heard is for the ill, pregnant woman..etc.
I personally can't give up meat at this point. I am really big on protein and need my fill of chicken adn turkey every day.
I am going to do some reasearch on this!!

Really? I wonder if some churches are more relaxed than others, we found that to be true(relaxed that is) when we were looking for the wedding. Mine said it was okay, so I am excused :)
Plus I get soo hungry when I fast normally, not pg, now there's no way I could make it through the day without meat.

That could be true. I spoke to my pastor about this on Ash Wednesday and that is what he told me. As long as I eat 3 meals I am fine.

Re: LUNCH??
I just found this..
"Those who are excused from fast or abstinence Besides those outside the age limits, those of unsound mind, the sick, the frail, pregnant or nursing women according to need for meat or nourishment, manual laborers according to need, guests at a meal who cannot excuse themselves without giving great offense or causing enmity and other situations of moral or physical impossibility to observe the penitential discipline."

There's lots of sites that come up if you google "pregnant and fasting during lent"
I also read something on one of those websites which I didn't even know, is that one of the popes in 1966 relaxed the fasting rule that the roman catholic church only requires fasting on ash wednesday and good friday. Didn't know that one either.
We always fast from Ash wednesday to good friday, every friday. There's soo many rules about fasting. Very interesting reading.
Sorry to hijack your post on lunch
