Get a Thermos so that way she can have mac and cheese or chicken nugs or soup... it will all stay hot (especially if you fill the Thermos with boiling water before hand, it warms up the Thermos and keeps the food warmer, longer).
Do you have a brand recommendation? She would love for me to carry on the Daycare tradition of Mac & Cheese Fridays!

I boil water while I warm up his lunch - toaster oven or a separate pot if it's pasta etc- when the water is boiling, I pour it into the thermos and cover it and let it sit for a few minutes.
When the food is warmed up I dump out the water and put the food in the thermos

This! DH does it for like 15 minutes, while we are heating up pasta, or rice and chicken or even chicken nuggets. I rotate between PB&J, turkey and cheese, nuggets, pasta, sometimes chili. If we make homemade pizza or order out we pack it. Also cheeseburgers, but w/out warming them up. Also mac and cheese with cut up hot dogs.
