Lovenox?
So I got through my first Lovenox shot yesterday. It was so easy, the nurse gave me a demsonstration and then later made me attemp to give it to myself.
I was nervous for the Lovenox Injections, and that was a big fear as part of my protocal. Now after finishing my first injection, WOW it really was nothing. I am starting to feel a lot more comfortable with this process, the trigger shot I felt nothing at all and now same with Lovenox.!
I really am a lot tougher than I thought!
Do you Lovenox girls all administer it in your Lower Abdomen or Anyone choose Thigh????
The Dr mentioned it could be either or, I chose stomach( which seemed the least painful)

Re: Lovenox?
Glad you found it so easy....it really is nothing. I'm 33 weeks and I'm still injecting the Lovenox into my lower abdomen. My doctor never mentioned to me that I could do it in my thigh but I wish he had so that I could have given my poor tummy a break

Oh yes!!! It's not horribly black and blue now but it was for months and months. Thats one of the joys of Lovenox.....but it gets better. I have a few black and blues now but nothing like when I first started.

Re: Lovenox?
The best way to avoid the bruises is to pinch the skin, do the injection, and then continue to hold the skin for about minute - and never, ever rub it. I once got such a horrible bruise I was scared something terrible happened. This w as the advice the nurse at the hematologist office gave me, and I never bruised again.

Re: Lovenox?
I always injected in the lower abdomen, starting close to the hip and working inwards, towards the belly button. I did get a lot of black and blues from it.
