Lovely.. Today of All Days when it's 100 degrees out
Apparently there was a fire at a switching station the next town over from me which has knocked out power over a huge area of the county I live in. No A/C in my house, and they have absolutely no idea when or if they will get power restored today.

yes, that's the plan, go to the mall have dinner and walk around.. but then what? We have to go home at some point.

Then go to a movie. By the time you get home it will be dark, you can sit outside, have a few cocktails and then sleep naked if the power isn't back on

Looks like we're going to sweat our azzes off tonight. Doesn't seem like power is coming back any time soon if at all tonight. My IL's want us to come stay by them, but they are in Queens and we're in NJ.
If there's no power when we get home, we may just pack it up and go to a hotel for the night.

 that completely sucks! can you stay at a hotel tonight?
My DH told me this morning that his A/C in the car isn't working - it needs a recharge. I feel so bad for him - he has a 40-45 mile each way commute

I've done that. Make your res now since your whole town may want to do the same.
make sure the hotel has AC!
