Looking for a school with a track...
I'm at exit 62 in Ronkonkoma - closer to Farmingville, Holtsville area.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a school or anywhere with a track that I can workout at.
My body is taking a beating running on the uneven surface of the road - and running in the middle of the road isn't the safest -

Not sure if it's considered a track, but there is a walking area at the park at the end of North Ocean Avenue in Mt. Sinai.

There is the Holtsville Ecology site. They have a great path to run on and its beautiful there. I believe its a big 1 mile circle. Check it out!

Thanks so much Laura & Jean.
I've been to both places & love both, but my problem is the uneven ground.
I'm the whacko who HAS to run/walk on the most even surface because of back & hip issues.
Since I've been doing the c25k on the road my hips are messed up. I'm lining up chiropractor appts to straighten up the damage I've done.
It's so embarrassing! I'm a mess!
(no gym membership for treadmill)

Hauppauge has one.

FYI - running a track is a constant circle - not sure if that will affect your back?

I run there. It is definitely not even! Most of it is uneven. Its 1.2 miles and a great workout though

Yeah, Lori..>Franklin Square has a GORGEOUS track right at the high school.

 Kim & I were JUST talking about this today. I told her I'm about to drive back there to go running at the track. The best is it was just down the road...sigh...
I still go to the chiropractor in FS. I should coordinate my c25k sessions with my appts.

Seneca Junior High has a track. It's right across from Mama Lombardi's on Broadway Ave. I ran on that track a looooooong time ago lol
