looking for a babysitter...what age?
my children are 21months and 6months. i'm looking for a babysitter who will watch the kids 1-2 weekends a month just do me and DH can have a "datenight".
What age should I be looking? I babysat when I was 12 but I know times have changed and I don't know that I'd trust a 12 yr old. 16 seems too old...what are your thoughts?
Also what is the going rate for 2 kids for a babysitter?

With children that young--and close in age, I probably wouldn't even consider anyone UNDER the age of 18 (or *maybe* 17).
My girls are 3 and just 5 and occasionally we use a 14 year old girl. However, my girls are potty trained, self-sufficient, able to communicate, go to bed like a DREAM, etc. When #3 comes along next month, I will not use her to watch an infant.
I would think $15/hr is reasonable for two children.
