look at this cool cake.... can I do it?
I am planning DS's Very Hungry Caterpillar B-day party and came across this cake. It is made from a couple of bundt cakes. Isn't it cool? Does anyone have any ideas about coloring the icing?

It can be done. My first thought was doing the cake in a few loaf pans and get it in that shape.
And the icing can just be colored with food coloring or the Wilton concentrated paste.

I think the round bunting pan would work best, if you look closely you can see the slices. I love that cake and can't wait to see your version, I think yours will be better!

Re: look at this cool cake.... can I do it?
I made it with regular frosting. If you search my name and caterpillar you might find my post. I used regular frosting and food coloring but didn't get the green so green and didn't get the red so red. However, if you buy the wilton colors, you might. HOWEVER, everyone knew it was the very hungry caterpillar. That was DS's b/day theme last year!
ETA: Also, you should use only one bundt cake and then 1 mini loaf pan. It looks much better than the 2 bundt cakes.

That's a really cute cake! I was going to say use gel colors also for the bright colors. The feet look like hershey kisses cut in half. So cute! Cannot wait to see yours!
