Long Vent about Cops
I just have to get this off my chest ...
my mom's road is very quiet and everyone knows each other. it is a dead end and everyone gets along great. there is one house (2 over from my mom) that 2 months ago, the woman who owns it ended up in a nursing home. since then her drug addict daughter has showed up and started living in this house. she brought along her drug addict boyfriend and a few other friends plus a ton of sh*t to display on the front lawn (inlcuding 2 broken down trailer homes).
since the day they moved in, there has been A LOT of traffic, in and out of their house, all hours of the night. Some neighbors have witnessed drug deals first hand. Everyone on the block has called Southampton Town Police and Code Enforcement numerous times, to which they have never done a thing. They show up, take the report, and leave, never even questioning these crackheads.
Last wknd the house next to my mom's was broken into. The only thing taken were her diabetic insulin NEEDLES (gee, who needs those?). My mom went over and a cop and a detective showed up, as well, and proceeded to blame her son!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt even believe what I was hearing when my mom told me. The detective refused to do any fingerprinting insisting that since the son, the owner of the house and my mom were there, things were already touched and any evidence left was ruined. Are you kidding me?!?!
Now, DH and I are moving to my mom's house by June 1. He is FURIOUS about this and does not want our son being around this. Plus, there are 7 other little kids under the age of 10 that run around the block and play ... how are they supposed to be safe if the cops aren't doing a damn thing???! 
Also, on Sunday, there was a guy walking down the road, staring into eveyrones yards and houses (either casing the place, or trying to intimidate). As we watched him walk, we saw him walk back into this 'crackhouse'. When my mom gave his description to the cops they said "Yes, that fits the description we were given last week about a guy walking through peoples backyards". HELLO?!!?!?!? Go question him!!!! Nope. They did nothing.
There has to be someone else we can go to. I don't understand why cops are so f***ing lazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think they're in on whatever is going on in that house.
ok, sorry, vent over. I just can't believe this goes on.

Go to the hq there and ask to see a luitent and do no leave till you see one! If at that point they make an excuse tell them first you are calling internal affairs followed by news 12! Plus is you have a video camera and or still take pic with you!

If I may ask, what town is this? My sister is a Southampton Town police officer. She is kinda loser herself, so I am not sure if she would be much help.

Call the town supervisor as well as anyone that is willing to listen. In this type of case, it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.
You have to really pressure them to do anything. Threaten to write any and all papers, congressmen, etc.
Does SCPD have any jurisdiction over this area?

Call news 12. If they call they police and start asking questions someone might actually do something. Ask ASA any of those networks.

We are in Eastport.
My DH called one of his good friends, a State Trooper. He gave us the # for Narcotics and told us next time we see something call them direct. They will respond and then will call Southampton Town to inquire why they arent doing anything. I just hate waiting til the 'next time' ya know ... could be something bad by that point.

Thats what I said to them last night. I said to make a complaint about the way the situation was handled.
When my mom told the detective she called the 'Chief of Police' (they went to HS together) the detective says "You can call him every hour, it's still going to be handed down to us".
How rude!! They also told us to keep a record of what cars come at what time. Yea, ok .. I'm gonna hang outside at like 2 am and wait to see if I catch a 'deal' on tape!

Your mom lives close to me. So she is in the Southampton Township of Eastport (much lower taxes). My sister's area is Hampton Bays.
That is so stupid that you have to wait to the next time.

ok then you need to call news 12 then also call the town supervisor(sorry i know spelling) and get them involved. take pics of the property and if you need any help let me know i am good at getting the police at doing what's right! it sad i know but when you give them the consant how can you be so rude and disrespectfull of a cops daughter they tend to do what they have to! then with the pressure of the tv and the town calling i think they will do the right thing! when they(cops) do wrong it is one thing that gets my blood to boil! fm me i will get this done for you if you want!

I know!!!! I have be careful when I drive around HB, she is out to arrest me!!!!!
She really is the BIGGEST LOSER!!!!!! Still lives at home with my parents, doesn't pay for rent, or help contribute to any of the household expenses and she is 28!!!!!! COME ON!
