Long Island Children's Museum
Anyone ever been to a child b-day party here? I am researching places for DS first birthday and wanted to know your thoughts on the place.

I'm not sure they do 1st birthday parties there. For some reason, I think they start at 2+. 
Anywhooo, if you're guests are mostly 2+, then it would be a great time. The toddler parties are held in the "Tot Spot", which is a big room with lots of things for the little ones to do. We're members and go all the time, but my 4 year old is "over" the Tot Spot already.  So, I think it's perfect for 3 and under.
We're actually considering LICM for my DS's 5th birthday in July, but I'm not sold on the available party times. From what I've heard, they throw a great party.
