Long island aquarium/riverhead

My older DS is 27 months. The Website says children under 2 are free. Children 3 and over pay. Would I have to pay for him or is he free? Do you think I would need to bring a stroller or would he be fine without one? Also, food wise should I bring my own or is the dining good taste wise? Is it close to tanger in riverhead? Could we squeeze in the children museum or save that for another day? My mom will be at outlets shopping so I will be with DS and wondering if we can do aquarium and museum...

He is free until his 3rd birthday. I would bring a stroller. Even if he doesn't use it is helps to have a spot for your coats and baby bag. There is an indoor and outdoor section so you will want your coats. The food is ok- nothing special. There is a nice old fashioned ice cream parlor place called Star Confectionery that is on the corner of Main Street and Roanoke- a bit of a walk or a really short drive that has great food and ice cream. It's pretty close to tanger- less than 10 minutes.

Not sure what museum you are talking about. There is a east end children's museum but that's in Bridgehampton- another 35 minutes further east. You can probably stay at the aquarium between 2 and 3 hours if its your first time and you do the butterflies, and the seal show. We go so often that I am lucky if we make it more than an hour. My DS runs through the place now.

The East end museum is the one I am talking about. I thought it was closer to Riverhead. I guess we might be able to make it but depends on how much time I have based on my mom shopping. Thanks for the info. Chat Icon

Food? I always bring my own....sometimes everything...sandwiches, fruit...what ever DS is intrersted in at the time! As he's gotten a little older I bring snacks, fruit & drinks for him & buy him chicken fingers. I bring my own because I try to eat healthier & spend less $$$ tooChat Icon
