London Sightseeing

Dh and i are going to London and Amsterdam in March. Can anyone recommend specific tour companies or tours that they went on in London. We're only in each city for about 3 days. We would like to do the sunrise Stonehenge tour, but i'm not sure who to book with. Any info would be appreciated, for Amsterdam as well!Chat Icon

You can do a red bus tour (hop on hop off) in London, thats probably your best bet as its one price and you can get on and off as you desire.

Don't know much about Stonehenge except that its smack bang in the middle of the motorway! Its bizarre that they built a motorway around it.

I would also suggest doing a daytrip to somewhere like Oxford, Cambridge, Brighton or Bath, all within an hour or two by train and really nice places to visit. But if you only have 3 days, that might not work for you. When you get to London you can probabl find a tourist office at a train station (I think Victoria has one) and you can make tour arrangements there, or your hotel concierge can probably help you.

Enjoy! The exchange rate is good right now, its probably worth your while to buy some GDP now just in case it goes up (I can't see it going down anymore, but I might be wrong)

in Amsterdam they also have busses and canal boats that are "hop on, hop off". you can buy a 1 or more days pass. but if you're staying in the city center (around the canals), you can pretty much walk anywhere. it's not a large area.

I would recommend taking a canal tour. there is one that is 2 hours and includes cheese and wine. they also have dinner cruises and 1-hour cruises.

some other interesting sights are: the Anne Frank House, Van Gogh museum, Rijksmuseum, the flower market, red light district, Heineken factory tour and if you're into it, there are plenty of "coffee shops" Chat Icon

Re: London Sightseeing

I definitely recommend the hop on/hop off buses.
