Local runner wins gold at Para Olympics
Not sure if anyone has followed this amazing kid. He is a Northport kid so he is all over my face book and he just just won gold. An amazing kid and great story.

I saw this earlier, so great!!!
My son also has autism, and he runs really fast. I wish he would sign up for track! His teachers always try to encourage him to, but his social anxiety pretty much keeps him from wanting to be around his peers for any extra activities. I even tried to get him to sign up for Rolling Thunder, but he says no way!

So wonderful!!
And holy crap...he runs a mile in 4 mins 7 secs and runs 60 miles a week!  
Correction.. just saw this in another story: The teen recently set a 1 mile personal best time of 3 minutes and 57.58 seconds at the Sir Walter Miler in Raleigh, NC, on Friday, Aug. 5.

The schools in the district were all watching the race. The community has really supported him through it all. I have friends that were his teachers and they just can't say enough good things about him.
