okay long story short...was told i had 4 follies that most likely would ov and possiblly another one...so 4-5 follies for my iui. this would be the best EVER for me.
so today i emailed my doc to ask about what protocol we should do IF this cycle doesnt work.
btw had iui mon morning.
in the course of emails dr said that although i had two fully mature follies the smaller ones most likely did NOT OVULATE bc my estrogen was in teh 300's and you need about 150 estrogen per follie.... okay never heard of that ..but fine. then i emailed back ....cause now i am ****** but tried to just sound confused...
asking why did i trigger/and why did you tell me 4-5 if you knew the estrogen was too low? ( she wants it to be around 800)
i mean saw dr sat morning for ultrasound....was told to trigger that evening...the got the blood work back that afternoon....why wouldnt she/or a nurse call and say wait for a day or two and take ganirelex and hopefully estrogen will rise?????
am i being totally stupid/dense..... be honest....or is this somethng that should have been seen (ie estrogen ) before the hcg shots???
should be grateful i have at least two good follies...
but my eggs are sooooooooooo crappy that i need all i can get.
and i am so frustrated bc no MATTER WHAT DOSAGE OF ANYTHING... it seems i only make two good sized follies. wether 300 follistim... 600 follistim..with lupron..with menapur without menapure....blahhhhhhhhhhhh
okay totally whining...
but what are your thoughts about the estrogen etc? and she also said maybe go down on dosage and that will make estrogen go up?
can you estrogen prime so estrogen will be higher? help!!!!!!! blahhhhh
Since you had two follies that were already very mature.......she probably wanted you to take the Ovidril to control your ovulation for IUI. If your Dr. waited until the other follies caught up......it would either never happen......or the other 2 mature follies would have ovulated on their own.
I understand you are frustrated.......but I'm not so sure your Dr. had any other choice. But hey I am no Dr......
Let's just hope these two mature follies are the ONES!!!

I agree with this scenerio. Your RE probably didn't want to chance missing an opportunity.
First of all It's so frustrating overanalyzing everything from symptoms .. to protocols.... Since infertility is more an art than an exact science, protocols vary so much that it's hard to know what's right.
I agree with the suggestion that if you didn't trigger when you did, you could have O'ed on your own. I honestly don't know a TON about this though.. just what I have experienced. For my follies, I know they were all around the same size (20mm) at the time of trigger.
I know how you feel about wanting lots of follies. I was excited to know I had five this time around- but what it comes down to is, I conceived on my third IUI cycle last time. I had a cycle with FOUR follicles and conceived nothing. The time I conceived my I had three. The amount of follicles helps but ultimately, it's luck! You could very well get pregnant with those two great follicles!
For now TRY (and I know I should follow my own advice on that one) to relax!! You did all you can. There is nothing more you can do but wait out the next two weeks as well as you could and then you'll see what the next step is. Hopefully this is it for both of us!!!!!!!!!

Exactly.
This cycle is over and done with and hopefully in 2 weeks, you will get the best news ever.. so don't stress yourself out! I know, easier said than done. Don't forget the 2 great follies that you actually did ovulate!! YOU NEVER KNOW... ALL IT TAKES IS ONE!! The month that i had 1 follie is the month that I got my BFP!
thanks ladies.... its just so confusing...cause at one point she said....oh you probably wouldnt have o'd so the ganirelex wasnt needed yet.... then the next sentance she said ...but only two were prob mature cause of the estrogen! so i got sooo confused!
does estrogen priming help..what is that for? she said estrogen priming only stops immature follies from maturing.
if so why did dr b when i saw him estrogen prime me?
gawd i wish i was as dr..
and yes gonna try to chill big time cause worrying isnt going to help at all!!!!!!!!!!
I've been on heavy doses of stims and only got 2 follicles at the most.
Yes estrogen has to be at about 150-200 per follicle for maturity. Most likely the others wouldn't get released.
I've never had estrogen over 400. Only got two. I did IVF and both were mature, both fertilized with ICSI and both were put back.
less meds have had success for poor responders because if you only get two follies why stim yourself like crazy. Most likely a low stim cycle could make your eggs better too. The thought is that low stim or non stimmed eggs make better egg quality so she's not alone in that thinking.
Also, doing an IUI with more than 2 mature follicles is just irresponsible. Think about the octomom.
Maybe you won't have to worry abuot any of this at all. Busy yourself with other things during this time.
