Little Dog Afriad of Big Dogs

Ok so we went to a dog park , and there were these huge Great Danes. So my shih tzu having no fear was playing with them.

One of the Great Dane runs at my dog, and he get scared and cowers. They didn't hurt him but now we've noticed he is scared of big dogs. He was never scared before and I do not want him to be.

Any ideas how I can get him ok with big dogs again? At least so he does not cower?

I have the same problem.. I think the solution is to keep bringing them around the big dogs.. I would definately be very careful which ones though.. It should only be a dog you know is gentle. In my case its my neighbors Pit. He is so gentle and sweet.. My dog is just starting to feel comfortable.. But I try to make her face her fears!! She probably is good because she is not a dominant dog. She is very submisive If she was dominant I would never bring her around a big dog.. She would be attacked for sure! Just be careful!
