LIPA Balanced Billing,,,eager for next month!!

So, for the past 6+ months, we've used less electricity than last year by nearly half if not more!! mainly due to monitoring our heating, new front door, blinds on our windows & in December a new fridge. Also, we were very cheap with the AC this season. Plus, we're being more strick with our electric (lights on/off, appliances, etc)

So, because balanced billing is based off historical info, my "annual" is up in March. I have $487 in my balanced billing account (which would cover my Feb bill) BUT I called LIPA and they said you have to pay that and then you'll get a refund in March...

So annoying, but I really hope I see a nice chomp. I have electric heat, so our LIPA bill is crazy. I'm hoping for at least a $50 savings. Anybody's balanced billing go down after doing some energy star savings in your house?

LOL We both live in woodgate so i hear ya on that one! Last winter we made the mistake of leaving the heat on at night and our winter bills were redic... Now we have heating blankets all over the place and turn the heat completely off! We also have an old system which im hoping to replace in a few months...

We got our new balancd billing statement the other day and we're now on track for $195 a month... I was shocked! I have to say I LOVEEEEE that we have shade in the summer bc it keeps the house so cool... but my garden suffers

The only thing we did was put in the energy efficent light bulbs and I swore it was bogus that it would help and out balanced billing for lip went from 300 a month to 240 and now they just sent me another notice that starting next month it will be 214!

So I guess worth it!
