We will be moving into our house soon in Lindenhurst and we were wondering where the good restaurants are? Good stores to check out? Good places to go? TIA!

FM SweetCin. She rented in that town and now just purchased a home in that area and she could offer some help.

Re: Lindenhurst Past & Present Residence
Babylon has good places to eat, sushi, and bars too.
I used to get my chinese take-out (and it's still good) at the chinese place in IGA shopping center in Copiague)
Pizza - Spasso & mamas are good

Re: Lindenhurst Past & Present Residence
Mama's in Copiague is very good. They have Pasta Night on Monday nights and it gets packed - but it's a great deal, just show up early. Nice family friendly place to eat... like you could bring your ILs with kids even if you don't have any...
Black Forest Bakery on Wellwood ave is THE BEST!
South Side for seafood is great too - on Merrick Rd....

Re: Lindenhurst Past & Present Residence
Definitely Imperial for pizza on Wellwood, right over Sunrise Hwy.
We go to Mushroom in the South Bay SC (in West Babylon) for chinese
For Italian food Goccia D'Oro on Wellwood/Hoffman is very good.
Can't beat the cakes at Black Forest Bakery (esp. for events)
There's new owners at Kurt's Deli on Wellwood & my DH said they now make great sandwiches
I like the bagel store on Wellwood, close to Lemon Tree, North of Hoffman; they are very friendly & make a good sandwich
We like Don Ricardo's for Spanish food in Babylon

Re: Lindenhurst Past & Present Residence
We like Foo Loo Kitchen for Chinese food. It is in the same shopping center as Outback. For sushi, DH uses Teriyaki Express on Sunrise or Green Leaf (which actually delivers all the way from Massapequa!). For nails, I prefer Fancy Nails on Wellwood, across from the gym. I always use Rosa because she does a great foot massage. She never rushes through like other places that I have used. For groceries, my SIL swears that King Kullen has better meat, I like Waldbaums for everytthing especially their sales.

Re: Lindenhurst Past & Present Residence
I think I have tried every chinese place in Lindenhurst/West Babylon at least once and my favorites are Tang's on Sunrise and China Wok on Montauk. I am a chinese food freak.
Pizza, definitely Imperial
Seafood, DH and I love Sea Haven (AKA Senior Haven) food is good and they give you plenty. Also, there is the Babylon Fish and Clam House, it is hidden in the back streets near a catering hall that I am drawing a blank on, but food is good there too.
Mexican, we like Meson Ole in Copiague
Bakery, we love Patsy's on Wellwood.
Meats- Joe's Meats, we have had some GREAT steaks from there.

Re: Lindenhurst Past & Present Residence
We haven't had a choice to eat too many places yet, but we do really like Palki's indian restaurant on Montauk. I think it just recently changed ownership and use to be called something else. It also seemed really dead in there, but we deciced to try it one day and were pleasantly surprised.

no offense to poster or anyone else who posted same info but i have eaten at kirin china and thinks it sucks. on a scale, i say 6/7 b/c it is not bad food just tasteless. and black forest bakery is horrible. i have gotten 3 cakes there on 3 different occasions and they were stale. try cieslaks? (spelling) just down the street also in the village. much better. no so much a atmoshere kind of bakery but everything there is fresh.

Re: Lindenhurst Past & Present Residence
Thanks everyone! WOW lots of places to try out now.
I'm so glad to see how many of you ladies live near or in Lindenhurst. Maybe we can have a GTG to meet each other. It's not easy making friends in a new town.
I live in the Village! Lovin it so far!

DH and I like them too. They have a dish there that I get every time because I am not a fan of spicy. I don't mind getting it every time though because it is SO good.
