lightening
So I described a pain yesterday which most are saying sounds like lightening.
However, I am concerned because I feel like it has to be WAY too early for that. I am only 29 weeks!!
Thoughts???
How early can lightening occur???

its actually when the baby drops. the baby can be head down without dropping. they call it lightening because you can breathe again.....but in turn the baby is on your bladder more so you have to pee more.
so yes it is too early to drop.

I def still feel squished and thought it would be too early to drop, which is why I was concerned...

I was going to say the same thing (that lightening is the baby settling lower in your pelvis, not turning head down). My baby was head down at 28 weeks and still is at 30 but I don't think i've experienced lightening yet.
I swear I felt when the baby turned though, it was sooo bizarre and has only happened one time.

Re: lightening
I have a doc appointment in two days so I will ask then but in continuing my internet search, I have found it described to a T and it is being said that it is the baby pressing on the cervix.
Fun!

Re: lightening
Oops! They bleeped out the second word in my response yesterday. It's referred to as lightening cr$*ch rhymes with botch lol. Different kind of lightening, nothing to do with baby being head down. Your ligaments are loosening and which leaves room for your pelvic bones to shift. Sometimes you end up with sciatica others the pain you described.

Re: lightening
I felt this early (32 weeks ?) but DS took advantage of the extra space to stretch his legs so I still felt him up there. He was "floating" for a while with periods of pushing his head on my bladder. Mention it to your OB but I don't think you have anything to worry about.
