Life Alert Systems
Hi! I am looking into Life Alert Systems for my father. He lives here on LI but will be traveling to his summer house upstate for long periods of time. He has a heart condition and we would like him to have a Life Alert System. Does anyone have any advice or experience with these devices? He will be in a rural area so I am not sure if that will make a difference. I am doing plenty of research but I would like a to hear it first hand. TIA

I did research about a year ago, and there were a lot of negative reviews about Life Alert, and it was one of the most expensive ones.
I got a setup from LifeStation for my aunt. Unfortunately, she didn't use it very long. 
It was very easy to set up, there are tons of options, and I would definitely go back to them if I thought I needed it for another member of our family. Their customer service was top-notch.

I've had a few clients with these systems and they have been satisfied. I'm not sure how it works OUTSIDE of the house though?
For the most part, most of my clients use cell phones.
I'd just make sure that he can get a signal though if it's a rural area.
I also am always concerned about how someone is going to dial a phone and even push the button if something really serious happens, if they are by themselves.

My Mom uses it and it is connected to her land line. No issues that I know of.

Its LifeWatch Inc, that you need to watch out for... they are the ones based out of Hewlett, LI
