LF & MTHFR question
Hi ladies -
My luteal phase ranges from 10-15. Is this normal or should I talk further about a possible LF defect with my RE?
Also, I have always passed very large clots during AF (sorry TMI). Would this warrant an MTHFR test? Should I talkto my RE about this as well?
ALmost to the 1 year mark with TTC and I am going nutz because RE still has classified me as unexplained IF. I had endo as well but RE think prognosis is good since my lap.
Any help would be absolutely appreciated.

Re: LF & MTHFR question
A luteal phase of 10-15 days is considered normal, but I would suggest that any questions you have write them down and then ask the RE next time you see him. I too have unexplained infertility and it can be very frustrating, just try and hang in there

Re: LF & MTHFR question
I have read that the LP should be fairly consistent from cycle to cycle. I would guess some type of hormone imbalance if it is fluctuating so widely. MY LP was always 13 or 14 days. Have you had your CD 3 testing? What stage endo did you have? Have you had your thyroid tested. I just flew to Chicago to see a specialist in immune function and fertility and she said the 3 reasons for IF are hormonal, endocrine(thyroid) and immune/infection. Also anatomical but that is relatively easy to figure out.

Re: LF & MTHFR question
Thanks! I have a list of questions for my RE. My RE doesn't categorize endo by the stage system. He said I had it mild so if I had to say it was a Stage I or II. My Day 3 testing showed normal ranges for my hormones. RE was no concerned with anything. He also indicated my ovarian reserve appears to be good. I had my first failed IUI recently. The injectibles produced 4-5 mature follicles so I hope that is a good response. Melijane - did the specialist indicate which one you may have? Keep me posted. Cat - this is incredibly frustrating...I feel like IF has taken over my life!
