Levitt-dwellers:Pics of Living Rooms?
We are moving into FIL's Levitt-house in 2 weeks, and I am debating different ways to arrange the furniture, etc.
It isn't extended on the back, so it is the origional size of a levitt-livingroom.
If anyone has pictures to share I'd appreciate it!

I have a ranch too. Is you LR about 12 x 16 with the fireplace separting the LR from the Kitchen?
I don't have any pics of mine but you looking for the layout?

yep --- that is where the LR is. It was never expanded on the back, but there is a screened porch on the back but it's totally seperate.
Right now we'd have the couch against the back wall where the windows are. The TV/entertainment center would be against the stairs, a recliner would be in the corner between the back wall and the side wall, and the love seat would be on the side wall.
I just don't know if this is the best way to set it up but don't know what my other options would be.

I don't have the back extended either. It's our patio not even a screened porch. This is our plan to expand that area since we don't have a DR. We decided against converting the garage into a DR.
Right now my outside wall is a wall of windows. The whole wall. My sofa is on that wall. Where the stairs are, we have a wall closing them. So you actually cannot see the stairs. There is a door to go to the stairs on the corner of that wall and the exterior window wall. The TV is against the stair wall.
We have a chair and ottoman against the wall where the garage is.
In the future I would like the following layout.
Get a flat screen.
Find a way to put it above the fireplace
Leave chair and ottoman where it is.
Put sofa perpendicular to fireplace wall but placed towards the window wall vs the fireplace wall and not against the stairs. I want it about 3-4 feet inside the room so there is room between the sofa and the stair wall. Make sense?
Eventually I want the extension to make it a "huge" open LR/DR combo.
