Level II question
If the Level II the same as the anatomy sonogram(which I'm having next week)? My doctor seems to call things by different names. She called the 1st trimester test the nuchal translucency which most people here call the ultrascreen and she hasn't said anything about a Level II.
Just want to be sure I'm not missing anything.
TIA

Re: Level II question
Yes, it should be the same as the anatomy sonogram. They take about 40 different pictures of the baby.

Re: Level II question
I would think it is the same. Before I got pg, I didn't know the term ultrascreen I thought it was a nucheal test too. I guess there are different names for the same test.
I have mine the week after you!

Re: Level II question
My doctor also calls the tests by different names. He also referred to the ultrascreen as nuchal translucency. At 16 weeks (last week) he did the anatomy scan. (The tech place asked if I was choosing to do the second part of the nuchal test...which is the AFP. I said yes, so my doc sent me for more bloodwork.) At 20 weeks, I go for what my doc refers to as "the second part of the anatomy scan". Basically, I'm looking at as if 16 = level 1 (I kinda made that up myself cause I haven't heard of it) and 20 weeks = level 2. I think most places only do 1 "anatomy scane" between 18 and 22 weeks.
After that, I'm not sure what happens. It will depend on whether I'm still at risk for placenta previa (which I was at 16 weeks), in which case I think I have to go more often. There is a growth scan at some point, but I'm not sure when he does it.

Re: Level II question
The Level II is performed between 18 and 22 weeks. I'm having a full anatomy scan done at 16 weeks. As long as everything is ok, I won't be having a Level II.
