What exactly is a level II? I have a sonogram at my dr's office at 21 weeks to find out the sex, is that a level II? My dr never specified.... TIA

Re: Level II Question
Level II measures the size of all the baby's organs and body parts (legs, arms, head etc. Gender is just side benefit.

Re: Level II Question
my dr's office also referred to it as a full anatomical scan...they said it meant they measure all parts of the baby to see if everything is measuring up. And hopefully if the baby is in the right position we can find out what we're having.

Not exactly. What you discribed is an anatomy scan. I had an anatomy scan (I called it a Level II on here b/c it is easier ) A Level II is more involved sonogram and may include a blood test (I'm not 100% on that though)

Re: Level II Question
I can tell you that at our Level II, they measured literally everything including the chambers of the heart, kidneys, etc. That is when they willl usually tell you the sex and possibly show you too.

Well, my MD's office called it a Level II sonogram wherein everything was measured. No blood work - that was during the ultrascreen.
