Level II question - internal?
Do they always check your cervix at a level II? I am just curious. How would they know if there was a problem if they didn't check.

Re: Level II question - internal?
I don't think they normally do an internal at the level II, the tech and DR were both able to see all of me that they need with the topical ultrasound. I did end up having an internal because the baby wasn't cooperating and the Dr. was trying to see from other angles.

Re: Level II question - internal?
They can see the length of your cervix from the sonogram so unless something is up, they shouldn't have to do an internal.

Re: Level II question - internal?
They can measure it externally with the sono, just like the other organs. I am pretty sure they would only do this though if there were an issue.

Re: Level II question - internal?
I had my level II last week and it was done externally and they measured my cervix when they did it. My ultrasound tech said it was standard to measure the cervix during that sono, because I had specifically requested my midwife write the order to have it measured and she didn't need to write that, they always do it! If you have concerns you can call your practitioner and request they include in teh order to measure your cervix just to make sure. Form my understanding they always do it but don't even tellyou the number unless there is somethign wrong.
Have fun seeing your

Re: Level II question - internal?
I had no idea that it could be measure through the sono! How interesting. I am not really concerned about it, I just hear so many things about the cervix being an issue that I wanted to make sure it gets checked at some point.
Thanks ladies!
