level 2 sono
Just got back from my monthly and my doc said it would be best to do it @week 22. Anyone have their doc tell them this? Setting it up for week 21since dh will be gone week22. Doc said that was ok just not 20

That's weird! I'm doing mine at 19.5 weeks. Maybe the doc is thinking the baby would be a little bigger at 22 weeks so it might be easier to get measurements? I have no idea!

i got mine done at 19w6d , they got most of the measurements but baby wasnt in a good position so I had to go back at 21w5d to get the rest of the measurements. I heard anywhere up to 22w is fine.

Weird? That's late! All 3 of mine were done at either 18w or 19w. It was hard for me to wait until then!  There is nooooo way I would have waited until 21 or 22w.

I had mine done at 19 closer to 20 weeks. weird ~ never heard it being that late before. hmmm I guess every doctor is different.

I think that seems late... I had to call up NRAD for my level 2 to get it done there, and the earliest appt they would schedule me for based on my due date, is when I hit 20 weeks exactly, or I could have scheduled for the following week, so I wanna say it varied from 20-21 weeks. I am going at 20 weeks, 1 day, I can't wait much longer!

I'm pretty sure that both of mine were late 19w/early 20w, but I had to go back a second time for both kids because they didn't get shots of everything they needed to see/measure. This is just a guess, but maybe your doc likes to make them later on because there's a better chance they'll get it all in one shot?

Maybe if you've had an amnio they do it later? My doc does an early anatomy scan at 16w and then the 20w scan (both level 2). Due to scheduling reasons, I had to make my 20w scan during 21w and the girls at reception were asking what insurance I had. I guess some insurances are tougher than others with doing it that week (I was fine to do it at 21w), so you may want to just double check with your insurance that it's ok.

At my practice they do 2 anatomy scans... They do one at 16 weeks and one at 20 weeks...
