Lets talk shades for the little ones.

Sorry for all the Swim/ sun related questions but this is our first "official" summer!!

What shades to you use for your kids? I have heard the baby banz are good but how do you get them to keep them on...its a struggle to get my DD to keep her sunhat on and I cannot imagine her wearing shades.

If she is wearing a wide brimmed sunhat does she need them?

Re: Lets talk shades for the little ones.

I just have a few Carter's sunglasses for my DD. She pulls them off once in a while. If she wears a wide brimmed sunhat then I don't do the sunglasses. I've seen infant sunglasses that have an elastic strap that goes all the way around the head. They kind of look like goggles. Someone had a picture of her DS posted the other day and he was wearing them. It looked like those would stay on great.

I got these for Julia when she was smaller, and they worked well, now she has her pink Dora ones.

Re: Lets talk shades for the little ones.

I know that on onestepahead.com they have sunglasses that have straps to hold them on, kind of like swim goggles. I think if you are going to be in the sun with a little one for a long time they are definately worth using, along with a hat, because you still want to offer some shade for the rest of their face. For smaller trips outside I don't bother, but for a whole day outside I think it is worth it.
